Tejpatta is botanically known as Cinnamomum tamala from the Lauraceae family. It has many common names such as Tejpatta, Malabar leaf, Indian bay leaf, Tamalpatra, Cinnamon leaf, etc. The leaves are used extensively as a spice. It is a drought-tolerant plant. Grows to a medium to a tall sized tree about 6 to 8 meters tall. Leaves are floppy, very aromatic, long, dark green. THIS IS MAINLY USED FOR LEAF PURPOSES.
CARE TIPS

It is a hardy plant and tolerates a wide range of soil and climatic conditions.

You can grow it easily in the medium to large size pot, or directly in the ground is always best.
- Always maintain moisture near the root zone, because it is mainly grown for its leaves, so we have to maintain good healthy leaves.
- You can grow in temperature between 20 – 35 Degree celsius with 75% of humidity.
- It will grow as a small to medium-sized tree, but you can prune & maintain your required height.
Sunlight – Full Sunlight (4-5hours) or Semi shade like Greenhouse is also okay to grow.
Water – Always Maintain the moisture in the soil. Water it when the leaves look dull.
Fertilizer – Apply any organic fertilizer once in 2 months.
Repotting – If found the roots are coming out of the pot or plant is not showing growth for a long time then repot it.

INITIAL CARE FOR 10-15 DAYS JUST AFTER RECEIVING YOUR PLANT
- Remove the Packaging Materials carefully.
- Press the soil in the pot & add additional soil(garden mix) if necessary.
- Maintain moisture in the pot, Do not overwater it may kill your plant, so make sure that the soil should be dry between watering.
- Make sure that plants get enough morning direct bright light(2-3hrs) for 10-15 days & do not go for immediate transplanting (minimum 1 month)
- After 1 month you can transplant it into a slightly bigger pot than the present pot or you can remain in the same pot for 6-7 months.
- Just prune if any branch of the plant is get damaged in transits. New leaves will come definitely.
